The special project dedicated to performance, curated by Daniela Cotimbo and Adriana Polveroni, returned to Roma Arte in Nuvola. Four events animated the program with impactful actions that explored themes related to social relationships, feminisms, ecology, urban memory, and the recovery of subcultures. Opening the cycle was the Brescia-based artist Francesco Fonassi, who with Dream Klub Remix brought the Nuvola to life through a live tape collage, the result of his residency in Belgrade where he set up a temporary radio and music production studio in the very spaces once occupied by the legendary club Akademija, a cornerstone of the international underground scene. The public also experienced the performance Tevere Expo, scarti sonori by Roman artist Iginio De Luca. The action took shape as an audio-poetic form of protest aimed at surfacing what is hidden or repressed. Throughout the fair, the artist extracted sounds from the debris he had retrieved from the Tiber — urban relics resurfacing from the riverbed, forgotten remnants of industrial production. Another highlight was the performance D’altro canto cade by the artistic duo LU.PA, founded by artists Lulù Nuti and Pamela Pintus. The work featured five opera singers performing as many musical pieces reinterpreted through popular culture. The audience, actively involved in the operation, experienced a pure moment of randomness, determined by the toss of a coin. The program concluded with Blue Horizon by Roman artist Francesca Cornacchini, who continued her research into subversive gestures capable of becoming aesthetic vocabulary. In this performance, the repeated act of kicking a wall transformed a feeling of dissatisfaction tied to contemporary life into a formal and painterly language.
